So many things to write, and so little time! I'm yet to discover whether or not this is actually working as a blog, but hey!
ANYWAY. So I guess I should start with I'm alive :). The flight was long, but well worth it. Brazil is absolutely beautiful. I can't even begin to explain how much I love it here, and how much fun it is. The food is so good! I love my mom, I love her cooking, but I must say she is being given a run for her money. BUT I think that's only because the food here is so different. Her mom had breakfast ready and on the table this morning when we woke up. Such a treat!
I went to Sao Paulo today with Julia, her father, and family friend Carlos. It was so fun! Carlos and I went to a cute coffee shop while Julia dealt with her American VISA. Chocolate milk here is so rich and creamy and amazing that you just want to keep drinking until your stomach explodes. After that they took me downtown, and it's basically a mirage of people weaving between each other to get into the next store. There are more people in that area alone than in Calgary, I swear it! But it's so neat to see the different people and the different things that are all around. Everytime Julia and I talk about it, we always talk about the man standing on the side of the road. He was selling water, so all you heard him say was "aqua, aqua, aqua" over and over again as fast as an auctioneer! We also saw one of those guys that sprays himself all over with silver, and imitates a statue. It was so cool when he moved, he looked like he was coming to life, then freezing again. His movements were all graceful.
Tonight, I met Julias cousin and I believe it was his girlfriend. They were all so nice! Priscilla (spellcheck!) was asking Julia about me, and Julia would translate for us. Without Julia, I don't know how I'd survive! I'm going to miss her when she leaves for Canada, she's so kind. And she's also hilarious and so much fun! Love her to bits :)
Exchange is turning out to be different than I expected. But that's a good thing, because I'm absolutely loving it. Without a doubt, I can already tell that embarking on this 'journey' was the best decision of my life.
